Newspaper News

Hey everyone! You may or may not have read the new newspaper, but I'd just going to post on some important topics in this week's newspaper.

1. Darwin
It wasn't that long ago, but remember when we voted on a name for Gary's new Dino Puffle? Well, it looks like the name Darwin won!

I'm glad Darwin's settled in so well! Maybe he'll end up helping Gary invent a Puffle Translator 300? Who knows?

2. Megalodon Escape
At the bottom of the newspaper is usually a list of upcoming events. Instead, this week there's a report from Aunt Arctic concerning a big shape near the present Iceberg.

What could it be? Well, if you go to the Scary Ice room in the past, you'll see the big shark, or Megalodon has disappeared!

Where could it have gone? You guessed it! It's now swimming around the Iceberg in the present. You can see swimming every hour.

I wonder what will happen to it now?

Billybob in Kenya

Hey everyone! Billybob has returned to the What's New Blog to talk about his trip to Kenya!

"Hello Penguins!

I know Coins for Change has come and gone, but I wanted to share an awesome trip I took recently to see the incredible work you contribute to every year.

By buying memberships and giving to Coins for Change, you guys have helped build a ton of schools across the world. One of the places is in a country called Kenya in Africa. Through your support, hundreds of kids are able to go to school. I got to visit the schools, play soccer with the kids there and see first hand the amazing work Club Penguin has done. They even gave us a goat as a "Thank You" gift!

It was awesome to see how much better their lives are because of you! So keep up the good work!

Until then,

Waddle on!"

Wow, what an awesome trip that would be! I'm glad that all the coins we donate to Coins for Change help other people so much! You can view this post on the What's New Blog here.

Dino Puffle: Red Triceratops

Hey everyone! The fourth Dino Puffle is now available to find and hatch!

It's a Red Triceratops Puffle! First, find the egg in the Dino Dig game.

Then equip the egg and bring it to the Volcano. You can also collect the special item you unlock by finding the egg.

To hatch your egg, walk it over to sections of rock that are red hot. When you do this, your egg will start to hatch.

Do this three times and your egg will hatch!

Name it and you can adopt your new Dino Puffle!

You can now walk your new Dino Puffle!

As you can probably tell from what I named my new Dino Puffle, I'm starting to run out of names for them. What names do you think are good for Dino Puffles?

Chattabox's Digloo Adventure

Hey everyone! Chattabox has invited us to a digloo adventure!

"G'Day Penguins,

We had such a rockin' Australia Day Party last week - I was so excited to see everyone dressed up in their outfits chanting "Aussie Aussie Aussie". You were all totally awesome!

This week I've been spending so much time at the Prehistoric Party - have you all been collecting your Dino Puffles? I love my new Blue Dino Puffle - I've named him DinosaurAUS. At the moment he's hanging out with my pink Puffle 'Lil Aussie' in my new amazing backyard. Have you all filled yours with Puffles yet?

Every week I like to try and visit all of your igloos, so why don't we have a party where we visit each others igloos and dig for eggs? Make sure you have your Dino Dig Site in your igloo and maybe we'll come and visit your iggy! Also, don't forget to come dressed up in your epic caveguin outfits - they are so cute!

Lets meet in the Forest on the Down Under server at 4pm (East Australian Standard Time) on Thursday 30th January, which will be 6pm for all of you in New Zealand. Don't forget, this is 9pm Penguin Standard Time on Wednesday 29th January for everyone over in the US and Canada.

I honestly didn't do much for Australia Day, although I had a small party the next day. If you celebrated Australia Day, what did you do? You can view this post on the What's New Blog here.

#MeggTakeover of Spike Saturday

Hey everyone! Megg has just announced that she's taking over Spike Saturday!

"Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying the #MeggTakeover :D

Since today is Saturday, there would usually be a Spike Saturday. As temporary owner for the weekend, I'm taking over Spike Saturday! However, I didn't want to completely take away the "Spikeness" of it, so I've dressed up like Spike Hike...

I was thinking we could all dress up like Spike Hike and still throw a Spike Saturday but with a twist.

So, if you wanna join in... I'll be going on the server Hockey at 11:00am Penguin Standard Time. (If you're not sure when that is, check the clock tower at the Snow Forts)

On another note, if you have any awesome ideas for the #MeggTakeover -- write them in the comments below!

Waddle on,

To find the egg, just dig for it in the Dino Dig game.

Once you've found the egg, equip it and take it to the volcano. You can also collect the special item for it, the Triceratops Shield.

Once you're there, wait for a section of rock to heat up. When it's hot, walk your Dino Puffle egg to that section and it should start to hatch.

Once you've done this three times, your Dino Puffle egg will hatch!

Choose a name for it and adopt it!

Congrats! You now have the second Dino Puffle!

Hey everyone! It seems that Megg has begun here takeover, starting with the What's New Blog!

"Well, it's finally happened...

Spike Hike is letting me temporarily have ownership over Club Penguin this weekend! W00t! As temporary owner, I want to focus on the community and how awesome all of you are.

My first order of business, COLORING! I know I know, that doesn't sound like much of a take over but I promise it'll be worth it.

Remember back to the #MeggTakeover episode of The Spoiler Alert when we talked about getting more coloring pages? As temporary owner I say, it shall be done! I thought everyone could color this hoodie template all pretty like and send it on in to me so I can see 'em.

You can submit the finished hoodie template here. I'll only be accepting them for this weekend while I'm temporary owner so be sure to get them in! I'll be coloring some as well :D

On another note, I'll be posting some meet up times on the blog throughout the weekend. Stay tuned!

Waddle on,

Dino Puffles

Hey everyone! As you are probably all aware, the newest additions of the Puffle family have arrived!

Dino Puffles are a new type of Puffle, and they are really cool! They're also a little bit different to look after then other Puffles. You can walk your Dino Puffle like every other Puffle, but I'll get to that later. Dino Puffles are for members only, so that's why the three icons you see when you click on your Dino Puffle have member badges. Let's start with walking because you need to walk a lot with your Dino Puffle.

The only action Dino Puffles have while walking them is a dancing action. When you dance, they jump up and down like many other Puffles, except they land a bit harder then others.

The reason it's so important to walk your Dino Puffle is because it's sort of the only way to replenish its stats. If you click the middle button to go to it's Puffle menu in your igloo, this is what you get.

So you can't actually play and feed your Dino Puffles from your igloo. You have to do it at the Puffle Hotel.

One of the best things about Dino Puffles is the kind of Puffle treasure they dig up. They dig up the usual coins, I'm pretty sure they also dig up Puffle food, but they also dig up prehistoric Puffle treasure.

Your Dino Puffle can dig up some pretty cool prehistoric clothing and furniture items. What do you like best about your Dino Puffle? I like its look and the kind of treasure they dig up!

Puffle Backyard

Hey everyone! If you've ever wanted to adopt 40 Puffles, now you can with the new Puffle Backyard!

The Puffle backyard now let's you adopt up to 40 Puffles! You can keep 10 in your igloo and 30 in the backyard. Since I don't have more than 10 Puffles, when I checked out my Puffle backyard for the first time, it was empty.

To get to your Puffle backyard, go to your igloo and click on the wooden Puffle icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

To get back to your igloo, either walk through the gate in the Puffle backyard, click the igloo button on your toolbar or click the igloo icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

With this new updates brings a sort of new layout for the Puffle menu. If you click on one of your Puffles, you should see this.

You can see your Puffle's stats at the top, which is pretty handy. You can press the left button to easily walk your Puffle, click the middle button to bring up the normal menu and click the right button to move it to your backyard.

While your Puffle is in your backyard, it's stats won't decrease, even when you're online. But also while your Puffle is is your backyard, nobody else will be able to visit it and you have to go to your backyard every time you want to see it. Well, what do you think about the new Puffle backyard? I think it's a pretty handy thing to have if you want to spend a couple of hours online without having to feed your Puffles every 30 minutes.

Prehistoric Party 2014 Guide

Hey everyone! Get ready to go back in time, because the Prehistoric Party has begun!

When you log in, Gary will talk to you and explain your mission.

You can choose No Thanks to stay in the present, but why would you? Instead, click TIME WARP!

You'll then meet Garugg the Ugg Ugg, Gary's ancient ancestor, who'll tell you more about your mission. After you've read his message, click OK!

You can see that the reason that message appeared in our time was because Garugg wrote it in his time. But anyway, on with the party! To get started, click on the egg icon in the top right corner of your screen.

If you visited the Prehistoric Party last year, then a lot of this is going to look familiar to you. The eggs on the left are dinosaur eggs. If you're a member, you can transform into a type and color of each dinosaur if you find an egg. If you collect all five eggs of a dinosaur species, everyone can collect a special prize. The eggs on the right a dino Puffle eggs! A new egg will be released each day. If you find a dino Puffle egg, you also get a special prize, which is for everyone. To find eggs, you have to dig them up at certain sites around prehistoric Club Penguin.

To get started, click on a digging site and click yes.

This game is a lot like Treasure Hunt, except you play by yourself. There are three layers of sand: The top layer, which you can see, the middle layer, and the bottom layer, where the coins and eggs are. My strategy is to dig in the middle vertically and horizontally, then dig in the middle on each side, then keep digging until you find an egg.

When you see an egg, go straight for it! Don't worry about anything else!

To dig up an egg, you have to uncover all four squares of it. After that, you can either focus on digging up more coins, or simply waste your remaining turns.

I'm pretty sure the first time you play Dino Dig, you will one hundred percent dig up a Dino Puffle egg.

After you've read Garugg's message, click UGG UGG!!

Once you've dug up a Dino Puffle egg, you can collect the special item, and equip it, like you're walking a real Puffle. Once you've done that, go to the Volcano and head on inside.

To hatch your Dino Puffle egg, you have to walk your egg to the mini-volcano that has lit up, like the one in the bottom right corner of this picture. Do this once, and your Dino Puffle egg will start to crack. Do it three times, and it'll hatch!

You can name your Dino Puffle. After you click the close button, Garugg will give you another message.

Once you've hatched your Dino Puffle egg, you can start focusing on finding normal Dino eggs.

As well as the T-Rex, Triceratops and Pteranodon, there is two new types of dinosaurs: The Stegosaurus and Raptor.

If you're a member, you can transform into each dinosaur that you unlock.

Each type of dinosaur has their own dancing and sitting action, and instead of puke, they throw snowballs this year.

As I said before, if you collect all four eggs of each dinosaur species, you can earn a special prize.

There are six new prehistoric emotes for you to use until the end of the party.

Lastly, if you have the Dino Dig Site in your igloo, your igloo will be featured on the list of digloos.

If you haven't yet bought the Dino Dig Site igloo item, and you're a member, you can buy it off the prehistoric Club Penguin map.

That's the Prehistoric Party! There are still five more Dino Puffles to rescue, so stay tuned!
