Hey everyone! The Monsters University party has arrived!
As soon as you log in, you can get a cap for which team you are going for. Or you could just get them all.
Before we start scaring, let's take a tour of the Monsters University!
These are the gates to Monsters University. These are the gates that all young monsters have to pass through on their first day.
This is the university courtyard. Here you can play some music, paint a picture or gaze at the starts with the telescope! Let's take a left into the big building.
This is the lecture hall. This is where monsters come to learn tips and tricks about the art of scaring, although in my experience, I found learning to scare was easier if you just jump in and give it a go instead of listening to a teacher talk about scaring for 70 minutes. Now before we check out that other building in the courtyard, let's check out the fraternity houses! To get there's a little bit tricky if you don't know where it is, but all you have to do is take a right turn from the Snow Forts or a left from the Plaza. It's in between them.
Team OK's house feels really homely, and it looks really well kept and cared for. You can tell these guys are trying their best to be the best!
Team ROR's house, or should I say mansion, is really fancy and new. It's very clean, but I can imagine these guys having butlers cleaning it for them. These guys have money to burn, and are a deadly threat in the competition.
Team PNK's house reminds me of a tea house. Fancy, posh and has great food! These guys have a very pretty and charming house, but underneath that is probably a terrifying scare.
And saving best (he he he) for last, team JOX's house! Well, it isn't exactly the best. I must have been away for that party, because it looks like these guys threw one big bash and when they woke up, they probably said we'll tidy this mess up later. But later will never come... But now, it's time for some scaring! Let's go to that big building on the right at the courtyard!
These are the scare grounds! This is where the main competition is taking place! In the right hand corner there's a leader board, with the teams in either 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place. (Unfortunately) It looks like team OK's coming first! So if you want to get your team to the top, or keep number one place, let's get scaring! Click the Scare Challenge booth!
This is where you can play the new scare mini-game and check the exact scores for the leader board. It looks like team JOX's coming last. By a lot. But I'm sure we'll come back. So pick your team and let's get scaring!
The game is very simple, which makes it very fun. You use the arrow keys to move left, right and jump, or you can press the space bar to jump. If you press either the space bar or up arrow key twice, you perform a double jump and if you hold it you descend slowly. So you start of with three lives and a timer. You have to dodge and duck over and under toys to get to the dummy penguin. If you hit a toy, you lose time. If you lose all your time, you lose a life. Once you get to the penguin, you'll see this.
You press the space bar to scare the dummy penguin. You're aiming to press the space bar when it get's inside the green section. I suggest pressing the space bar just before it goes into the green section for the best scare.
Since this game goes on forever until you lose all your lives, you can quit whenever you want. You'll get points based on how many scares you got.
Not only do these points contribute to your team's score, you can use these to buy costumes! Click on the scare tank in the top right hand corner.
Each day there's new costumes unlocked. There's one item that everyone can get, and the rest are for members. If you're a member, I'd suggest saving up for either the Mike or Squishy costume first so you can start scaring real penguins!
The good thing about these costumes is that you can wear any item with them and you can still scare penguins. To scare other penguins, simply walk up to them and press "D."
All your points go into your scare tank. I'm not sure what happens when it fills up, but I'll post about it when I get it full.
There's six new emotes, a glasses emote, a one eyed emote and the four team foam hand emotes.
That's the party! I'll post about the new costumes when they come out, but until then... Enjoy the party!!!
Waddle on!
